CD-ROMs AND DVD DATA DISKS
CD-ROMs and DVD data disks represent the main means (after the internet/intranet) of distribution of electronic publishing in its broadest sense. This includes not just publications but presentations, both onscreen and for training, disemination of many forms of information about products and services, as well as software and the like.
Costs are very low in comparison with traditional printed material. For example, a CD in jewel case with colour booklet and tray insert plus colour silk screen printing on the disk is about A$2.00 each for 1000 units and less for more. Such a CD could contain thousands of pages in an interactive format for easy access. DVD data disks can hold at least 12 times the amount of data a CD can hold.

This CD was produced for a series of seminars covering three publications. These were included on the CD and distributed to the attendees at a fraction of the cost of supplying printed versions of the publications.
